I don't get how they calculate award levels and taxes
Wanted to fly from Lisbon via Paris to BEY on miles, Business Class.
LIS-CDG-BEY comes in at 90,000 miles, 200 EUR taxes/fees, labelled "Special Elite"
CDG-BEY comes in at 60,000 miles, 244 EUR taxes/fees, also labelled "Special Elite"
So instead of just applying a "Europe-Middle East" award, they add 30,000 miles for LIS-CDG to the 60,000 of CDG-BEY.
What is interesting though, when pricing this as an award in P (which I don't intend to take on such a route and for the amount of miles they ask), it comes in at 160,000 miles, irrespective of whether I leave from LIS or CDG.
How can that be? Is there any logic in this? If there is, then I don't get it.
