I would suggest you take BART into the city for the day. 11 hours is too long to spend at SFO or in a United Club.

Assuming you are flying business class, you can access any of three United Clubs. If you are flying F, you can access the F lounge (assuming it is still open at that time)

There are two lounges with showers. The F lounge (see above) and the Arrivals lounge. You will not have access to the arrivals lounge on YVR-SFO-AKL. If you are returning on UA AKL-SFO in business or F you would be able to use the Arrivals lounge.
