Once the flight is confirmed and shows up in your airline loyalty account, the total cash amount would show up. It would also indicate that it was purchased by a Mastercard.
I can only speak to American (and this is many months ago), but I have found the last portion of this not true. The last few times that I booked flights using TYPs on AA I saw that the receipt section showed zero or blank for total paid.

I'd be interested in hearing which airlines it actually works on though.
