Just out of curiousity anonplz, what kind of bid do you think would garner the Renaissance? I tried priceline once but didn't have much luck, even using some guidelines I found here. Something about not knowing exactly where I would end up is a little disconcerting to me... what can I say, I'm a virgo...

www.betterbidding.com - travelers post current accepted bid info, which should give you a good guideline. Vacancy is down now in the hospitality industry generally, so beware. If I were bidding, I'd find out how many free re-bids I have (I think there are a few in FLL), and assuming there are at least 4, I'd start at 40 (the minimum accepted for a 4*) and raise bid in equal increments of $7-10.
P.S. $75 appears to be the magic bid now...
