ZLA Metroplex Implementation on Thursday, March 2, 2017 with new procedures
and airspace redesign commencing. Expanded MIT, ZLA area arrival/departure
initiatives, LAX GDP, and FCALA1/FCALA2 AFPs to be implemented in support
of transition and workload associated with these changes. A ZLA Hotline
bridge will be active and staffed to address Metroplex questions and
concerns. ZWY Oceanic Airspace Redesign will be implemented, with holding
pattern modifications and additional waypoints being implemented, affecting
arrival/departure routes to/from EWR/JFK and their satellite airports.
Users should begin filing these new routings and waypoints in both regions.
Gusty Westerly wind in the BOS/N90/PHL and DC metros areas may lead to
required initiatives due to reduced capacity. Potential lingering
convection in the Mid and SE Atlantic waters could lead to route closures
in ZWY/ZDC/ZJX/ZMA.
