AY has a fantastic site. It is easy to navigate, it is fast, it doesn't have circling little planes, and it has extremely well-thought out features. Eg. There is an entire page including a video and detailed map of how to transfer at HEL, the estimated time, what you'll need etc.

Anyway, we all know there are better sites out there. And there are parts of the AC site that are informative, but the entire mess is not user-friendly, it is color-heavy, it is significantly slower that the previous site, it takes longer to choose flights and information is missing that was previously available.

All of this has been discussed.

The people who make the decisions about these things at Air Canada, chose this design, the format, the missing stuff, the lack of features available elsewhere.

The AC website is quirky in the same way that a real estate agent describes a decrepit house on the brink of collapse as a "handyman special" or a house where a serial killer ate a dozen of his victims as one with "lots of character".
