At all sets of barriers ("old" station entrance, the new one by the bridge, and the north exit by the bridge) there should be at least 1 member of staff with a portable ticket machine slung round their neck, normally inside the barrier. Just tell the staff that you've come in from an un-manned station, and need to buy a ticket before connecting on, and they'll point you to the right person if they're not it.
