Intelligence on FT supports the "no access by status" idea. Yet the lounge proudly displays the Oneworld logo at its entrance: and, again, Oneworld thinks stars-ruled access is fine.
What gives?
It's not Qatar's lounge. Its a third-party lounge. Normally I would say "status entry can be denied by third party lounges", but I found this on oneworld.com
Eligible customers have access to lounges operated by a third party, contracted by the airline on which they are traveling.
I believe that is a new change. Maybe they don't know the rules yet.
