Bottom line is that SPG Lifetime is worthless at this point in time since Marriott is reneging on their obligation.
I'm not sure this is accurate. I am LT Platinum with SPG and linked my account with my Marriott account and now both accounts show Platinum.
Perhaps there was some mistake or miscommunication but my experience differs from yours.
