Considering that SPG program will be incorporated into Marriott Rewards program in 2018, I don't have that time to wait for another 2 years. I want lifetime Gold! Like NOW!
I contacted my ambassador and other customer service agents, and I was told that there's no way to override the 5-year rule, there are some guys with 1000+ nights and 9 year Platinum, SPG cannot grant them lifetime Platinum.
Well, if this is the case, I would have to choose something else that is for my best interest: Marriott Rewards.
I loved SPG, but it's time for me to say goodbye.
This makes no sense. Why should you get special treatment while everyone else has to follow the rules? I had to earn my 5 years, 10 years the hard way to get my elite status. So has everyone else. Yet you want a free ride? Give me a break. I have no sympathy for your situation whatsoever. None.
Cheers,
