For reference sake;
- The plaintiff says she was traveling with 2 newborns , a 3 year old and her mother. That makes for 3 seats and 5 people. I deduce that the newborns were split up; One on grandma's lap and one one mom's lap.
- New seat assignments were 24J, 33K, and 38J.
- J seats are not available on narrow body aircraft, suggesting a wide body aircraft.
- 2 pm scheduled departure to YYZ
- Departure airport is not mentioned, but based upon two preceding points, I deduce the flight involved was 118 a B777, connecting to 626 an AB 320 scheduled to arrive at YHZ at 2 AM with 2 hour YYZ transit. Both flights have a dismal OTP.
118: This flight has an average delay of 48 minutes with a standard deviation of 45.46 minutes. Statistically, when taking into consideration sample size, standard deviation, and mean, this flight has delay performance characteristics better than 1% of other flights.
626: This flight has an average delay of 42 minutes with a standard deviation of 52.84 minutes. Statistically, when taking into consideration sample size, standard deviation, and mean, this flight has delay performance characteristics better than 11% of other flights.
This woman was doomed from the moment she was put on the later flight because of the OTP. At best she might have arrived in Halifax at 2 Am, but most likely off the plane and with luggage around 3:30 AM. Not the best scenario.

I have a hunch that what we have here is;
Busy airport + overbooked+ tango fare+ unrealistic expectations+ typical AC workers+ Poor OTP + frazzled mom = Negative outcome.
(Genius conclusion eh? I will be bartering the winning lottery ticket numbers in an MLL near you soon. Bring food and we can trade. 2 pizza slices and you can be told the secret to the scratch and sniff cards.)
