As I mull this over two things stick out:
1) Change Fee's; How is AS? are they some what liberal, I often fly on discounted (seldom heavily discounted) fares and am paying about $100.00 weekly in penalties. It is getting worse at UA too. Is Alaska any better, mind you, I'm not trying to skirt the system rather looking for flexibility. I also buy A LOT of full fares, which pose other problems (Refund VS. vOUCHer.
2) The automated check In kiosk's; All of my travel is coordinated through an agent. I have experienced problems using the kiosks with these E-Tickets Why?
Any help??????
John,
First question: Sounds like you could easily and quickly achieve MVP Gold status on AS. Once you do change fees are waived for your AS and QX tickets. http://mileageplan.alaskaair.com/mvpstatus.asp
Quite the benefit for someone in your position.
2nd q: I don't know why you might be having trouble with the kiosks. I and others I know have never had problems with AS kiosks (have had problems with other airlines automated checkins). If you are able to you might want to do the online checkin and pick up the extra 500 miles (which is, sadly, no longer available from the kiosks).
