You likely don't realize this, but that is a terribly offensive term. It's meant to imply someone acted in a negative manner stereotypical of Roma people. It's as offensive as any other derogatory term meant to ascribe stereotypical characterizations. It's not one of those over exaggerated politically correct stretches. It's pretty straight forward offensive.

Putting that to the side, were you at a hotel and denied any Plat benefits, or are you just theoretically concerned that you lost a day of bragging rights? My guess is if you were at a hotel and brought it to their attention, you would have been given lounge access (which you had as Gold), a welcome gift and your bonus points.
