There have only been 2 occasions where I've been aware of this benefit. Once was when I was staying at the Hilton Prague (?) during a public holiday, there were very few guests, and they closed the restaurant for some electrical works. The other was something like Doubletree Olbia: I was offered a breakfast voucher, which I declined due to needing to get to the airport early. The front desk agent, who was going the extra mile, offered the room service breakfast instead, since that could be delivered 30 minutes earlier. So in short, anything in this area is going to be very much the exception.
