Has anyone travelled onwards from this flight?

There are some really great deals onwards to places like ICN/TYO/SIN/KUL but I've heard your bags aren't checked through when you land in XMN.

Anyone have experience of this?
I'm looking at a DUB > TYO return flight for €420 but the layover in XMN is just over 2hrs which obviously wouldn't be enough time to collect bags/recheck in and go through immigration/security.
