Apparently the Conrad will be renovated this year(and some renovation has already started at the Ramses Hilton IIRC).

We had 2 separate stays in January/Feb and Mrs m4l mentioned the smell of smoke on the 2nd stay but we were to tired to change rooms.
The smoke smell in the restaurant did not bother us and we loved the Middle East food from the buffet.
