Ticketed when Silver. Now a 1K.

Hey Gang -

I'm new to the United forum but have been on FT for awhile (in Delta forums). I searched for an answer for this but couldn't come up with anything.

I'm on a multi-leg itinerary that was booked when I was a Silver but my status match to 1k just came through. Not that it matters but routing is MCI->SFO, SFO->IAH, IAH->MCI, MCI->DEN. Some long legs and a redeye so would love to actually get to pick a seat in premium.

Despite the itinerary now showing 1K, my boarding pass for the first leg has me in group 2 and my upgrade status is showing #4 of 6. I suspect that operationally it's still processing me as Silver. The phone agent agreed with my suspicion but told me that nothing can be done and everything is working as per policy. "Congrats on being a 1K now but you booked this as a silver and that's how you will be processed".

Is this a UA thing or is there something I can do?

Thanks!
