I'm heading to Southeast Asia from New York and the most convenient/cheap flights for my dates seem from Asiana (as well as Korean Air).

JACDEC ranking for Asiana seems a little worrisome. I read some articles claiming that a "culture" of deference and seniority led to a string of crashes, but the information is a little dated.

What's Asiana's reputation? Should I be worried leaving/returning to JFK?

Would either Asiana or Korean be classified as "good" airlines? Is one better/safer?
