We did this 3 or 4 years ago when we could only find one night in Yellowstone to book. It wasn't bad for the Tetons but I don't recommend it for Yellowstone. It's a long drive to and from each day.

The room we found was at Old Faithful Lodge. It was horrible, simply awful. There were no bedside tables, no fan on a sultry night, no comfortable chair. I think the mattress must have been in use 30 or 40 years. We had the manager on duty come to the room to see if we could sort out any small pieces of furniture to no avail.
