The long-standing DCC thread you linked to has lots of great discussion and recommendations. Creating a new discussion in every single hotel property thread would be similar to going to an autos forum and posting in every model-specific thread about auto financing fees.
For people who are unaware of DCC (which are many) they are not going to search a specific property thread related to it. They will however go to a specific thread when deciding whether to stay at a property and see what it offers. It is there they will learn about DCC and it's lack of anything useful. They can then make an informed decision as to whether or not they choose to stay at a property who will attempt to fleece them at checkout.
You all seem resigned to DCC being something we cannot change. But if enough consumers complain a property owner may make a different decision. It does not exist at every property - and should not exist at any. Do not give up. Bringing attention to the issue is what can get it removed.
