New Lows..
Did my first longer BA short haul flight in ET since BoB was implemented from LGW to RAK today and was far from impressed...
Got to the new area at LGW and signs flag BoB and that you can buy things at the airport - which I wonder is as a result of people kicking off?
Shortly after take off hot food orders were taken and a friend of mine ordered the Foccacia.
Whilst hot food orders were being taken someone in the row behind - kicked off saying - does this mean cheaper fares then - the CC member replied - "Yeah, No" make of that what you will!
The trolley was then rolled out and made slow progress, the Foccacia was finally delivered 90mins after ordering - it seemed they were only delivering as they got to each row - by that point she was starving.
Then 3 people from the last few rows came up to the trolley to see how long it was going to take - the crew said we will get there, we need more crew onboard.
As soon as they had gone I heard one CC member say those pax are crazy - which I thought was a bit off, given the amount of time it was taking!
The whole thing was so tacky - the CC member on the trolley (shouting - really!) up the aircraft - can you get me an earl grey teabag - from Row 21.
In addition to that 2 pax, were stood in the aisle for most of the flight swigging Heineken, with their boxers on display - the rubbish collection was making use of old Pret bags to take in trash..
In their effort to get the service done as quick as possible, when they were getting Ice from the box it went everywhere - and the attitude of 2 of the crew was bad imo, bordering on rude.
I also heard the CSD say to the CC on my trolley - you should keep your water bottle on the trolley and you can drink from it as the service takes so long.
The CSD was sending people to the CE loo during the service - but only on the condition they queued on the other side of the curtain - an issue that could have been solved had their still been a partition in the galley on the G-GAT aircraft..
They seemed to finish the service about 30mins from RAK by which point everyone ran to the loo, whilst they commenced Highlife Shop.
The queue for the loo was still there when the seat belt signs came on and the last person returned to their seat as flaps were deployed, the crew too with a bottle of Gordon's which presume had something to do with the Duty Free.
In all chaotic, tacky, all about the money - I suppose welcome to the new BA.
