Same story with the LCAR and GXAR they had out in the lot.
Is this standard policy now or did I just run into a mis-informed agent?
Technically, anything reservable up to Luxury SUV can have regular free days applied as an EE. One Two Free days are only good up to full size. A lot of times, some locations don't show all of their available inventory as reservable. The way to get around this, is to visit or call the location to make a future reservation for a certain car class, then later call customer service and have them apply the free days to the reservation. Sneaky but technically doable.
Don't expect to make friends with the location doing this however.
