Two weeks ago I applied for and was approved for the CitiBusiness card. I then applied for the same card for my wife, but mistakenly put in my business name instead of her business name. I received the rejection letter for her last week that stated, "You have submitted multiple applications for credit." I used my SSN for my application and her SSN for her application. My wife and I called reconsideration and asked them if they could change the business name in her application, but was told that they cannot do so, and that she should wait 30 days before reapplying. They said she was rejected since the same business name was listed on both applications. From reading the threads, I haven't seen anything that suggests a 30 day wait before reapplying for a CitiBusiness card.

Has anyone previously run into this situation? I wasn't sure if I should try calling again and asking another rep. I'd like my wife to get the CitiBusiness AA card by early March so that she will receive the 50k mileage bonus, but didn't want to have another credit pull unless I'm confident that she'll be approved. Both of us have 820+ FICO scores and she has only gotten 2 new credit cards in the past 12 months, including a Citi AA personal card exactly a year ago.
