You have just explained why we almost had a disaster HNL/ATL/PHL. After the hnl/atl redeye, I reset my watch. While taking a leisurely stay in the lounge, I wandered over to check out the phl flight and got a big shock. They would be boarding in minutes, not in an hour and minutes. I obviously used my wife's notebook for the time source.
Unless this has changed recently. Delta.com after a certain time won't let you book or change seats when in HNL for the late night red eyes to LAX or SEA because it's too stupid to realize it's not tomorrow already in HNL. You need to see a GA or Sky Club Agent to get it done. I assume the kiosks will work for seat changes however but have never tried.
