xONEx fares go by countries. In theory the fares are set to whatever the local market will bear. So fares ex-Australia are high, fares ex-Mozambique are low.

From time to time a currency loses its value compared to external currencies, which make fares quoted in that currency inexpensive for those of us outside the country.

This happened last year in the case of the Mozambique currency (the MZN). For the first half of 2016 fares were very inexpensive (when converted to an external currency such as USD). In August the fares were increased (more than doubled generally) - but they are still inexpensive when compared to fares in other starting countries.
