"I believe in my state the disposition will say that I pled Guilty but I was never convicted."
You need to "know" the answer, not "believe" it and you need to see the final disposition. Word-for-word.
It is almost a certainty that the final entry in the docket is something such as "entry of judgment suspended - case closed." That is because not only CBP, but the military, many private sector jobs, many government jobs and the like, all require a final disposition. They want to see that the case really is closed and not pending in any manner.
Therefore, if it is still pending, it almost certainly means that some judge, clerk or other responsible official was irresponsible. So, it will be on you to push it through. This is important even if you could care less about GE because these things do come back again and again. So, it's worth getting it taken care of.
The problem with CBP's records is that they are incomplete. CBP may have an arrest, but not a disposition. It may show the guilty plea, but not the final closing.
