Some interesting discussion came up in the last thread about how unfriendly Quebec is to business, and how AC would be improved by moving their head office to BC or Ontario.
How about taking this one step further, and examine the benefits of that AC could enjoy in a Canada without Quebec?
Having to run a bilingual airline makes it harder for AC to compete with US and international airlines, it raises their costs (*citation 1) [estimated to add around 90 million in 2006 dollars) and limits the talent that they can attract.
Forced bilingualism also leads to consumers taking advantage of AC and filing unnecessary lawsuits (citation 2).
Lastly, without Quebec, Canada is much more likely to elect majority Conservative governments, which will lead to a more business friendly government than their rival political parties.
