Greetings and welcome jclaude from me too.
Star Alliance members often have 2 year qualification periods, which may suit some travellers, and gets around atypical travel around the floating date of Easter.
In a way, though, 1500 isn't the end of the game, in addition the lifetime levels, there are various rewards stretching up to 9,000 TPs, most unfortunately there is nothing after that particular milestone. So I guess the airline's inducement is not focusing on the 180 TP excess, but on those it can entice to 2.500 TPs with the GUF2 reward.
I did hear talk of allowing a 1 year sabbatical, to allow for child care (etc), for long term BAEC members, I am not sure where that got to, and I've not heard anything recently.
