From talking with a few Spanish Language Qualified FAs at United, it seems like most domiciles have a surplus of Spanish LQ FAs. Very often I see FAs with pin flying non LQ flights, which also leads me to believe that they rarely get pulled of their ID to fly LQ flights. Also, with the closure of MIASW, I assume many Spanish speaking FAs, even if they are not LQ, have been scattered throughout the system. Keep in mind that UA can pull a LQ FA to fly a specific route, even if that FA has not bid that trip. Then there are always Spanish speaking FAs who are not language qualified who often through in a few sentences in Spanish every once in a while.
