If you spent $50/month on Costco calling cards @ $0.0347/min, you would have to make over 1440 mins (24 hours) worth of calls on it to break even versus the unlimited for $50.00.

Some people may talk that much, but you really have to use the phone alot.

Also, I'm not sure that that system you just outlined will work for Canada (the original poster is from Canada).

I would still look at Vonage. For $46Canadian/month (the equiv. of $33.50 US$/month ) you can get not only unlimited calls to USA & Canada, but your monthly phone service as well (including caller-ID, 3 way calling, voice mail, call transfer, and more).
