If I don't use it next January, I still have the ticket that is good for a year. Everything has to be on AA as long as they have a plane that goes from that city. I asked about the "4 hour rule" - guess it doesn't apply here. I had no problems getting this ticket which was really a nice surprise!

I assume you are talking about the return where the first available AA SJC_SEA flight is at approx 3pm. I am ticketed on the same itinierary and AS put us on the mid morning flight back to Seattle. Maybe you should ask again.
