Only experience I've had with TAP is the following: Flew MAD-LIS this past Aug on an A fare as well - somehow got bumped up to biz but no mileage credit to UA.
Flew LIS-BOS this past Sept originally on an L fare (should be 50% UA credit). Got upgraded via their PlusGrade paid auction system to biz (ticket reissued as P) - three attempts to get the (L) credit all failed so I gave up.
I wouldn't hold your breath - if you really want the miles perhaps call TP and see if you can do a "buy-up" to a higher fare class.
