Picked up another Barclays Lufty M&M card in Dec. usually Barclays is p good abt waiving AF. Called em a cpl days ago to see if they would do so on this new card as well (I believe any CC/bank that doesnt offer 1st yr AF waived is whack) -- anyways, retention offered me 2 choices. 1) keep the card as it is & she would refund 50% of the AF. 2) 'downgrade' to World instead of World Elite which is $0 so full AF refund. But earning is cut in half. I was ok w (2) since I don't MS M&M anyways.

She also offered 5k bonus miles after $1k spend in next 3mo (on either offer.) Standard bonus miles offer on Barclays cards. So took it instead of outright cancelling and churning again in 6-12mo etc.
