For SWUs, it is elite status sorted by timestamp (sponsored customers do not inherit elite status if they are not on the same PNR as the elite customer - although word is that it is supposed to change at some point).

Well, then it appears it was a mistake to apply my SWUs to this one in an attempt to use it. Any benefit to removing them and getting back on UDU wait list? Or is it too late? (Flight in a few days, so it's probably not going to clear via SWU in advance)

SWU was applied 2-3 months ago so I assume I'm at or near the top of the SWU list, if I move to the UDU list I'll probably be near or at the bottom but ahead of all SWUs. Maybe a wash?
