I have been having lots of issues with the AA website, mainly showing a flight as full when the seat map shows that it is 90% empty, and showing coach seats only at full fare costs when expertflyer shows 7+ in all fare class buckets for coach. So I then tried searching for the same trip via multi-city and I found that it shows the same flight combination that I would find if I didn't search multi-city, however the price would be 30% cheaper!

What is going on here?
