Wierd part was i was just told that both numbers were in the reservation and that we could get both VX & AS points for the same trip. That didnt sound right, I erred on the side of caution and had them remove the VX number. Not worth the risk for 400 measly VX points.
Two FFP numbers can be put in the reservation, but you will not receive points from both programmes. Per Murphy's Law the points/miles will be credited to the programme you do not wat them to be credited to.
This double FFP thing is useful if you are trying to credit miles to your newly minted AS account but would still like the benefits of your VX gold/silver status. This
feature is also subject to Murphy's law so, as in all mergers, double check everything until there is a singe reservation system. Then triple check everything for a while.
