EU compensation denied due to weather delay on earlier flight. Worth pursuing?

EasyJet flight out of Manchester on Sunday19/2/17 18:25, delayed for 12 hours. Denied compensation due to "weather" so beyond their control. There were no weather problems at Manchester, the incoming flight was delayed due to bad weather (in Germany I think). The incoming flight then had to divert to Liverpool as they couldn't get a landing slot at Manchester for delayed flight and were low on fuel. When the flight eventually landed at Manchester several hours late, the flight I was on was then delayed overnight as couldn't get a departure slot before crew timed out. Is it worth perusing?
