You are boned. Just like when AA bought US and US flights were never able to be credited to AS, VX flights will never be able to be credited to AA. Once VX is gone and they are all AS flights you will be OK, just like when US stopped having flights. US was never an AS partner and VX isn't an AA partner. That's how it works. Sorry.
