I'm less than 7k BIS away from 1MM, and wondering if I should plan a "special" flight at all. It's not like a pilot comes out and sits down for a chat with you, a-la "Up in The Air"
You just reminded me of when I made 1MM. The pilot 'didn't come out and sit down' but he made an announcement to the fact when I hit the mark half way IAH/DCA. Unbeknown to me my wife had called UA to surprise me (all her family is big on celebrations, I'm quite the opposite!). Thank goodness he didn't note my seat #. The funny thing I also remember was the comments from a number of other passenger, ranging from 'I couldn't even imagine flying a million miles' to 'Good grief, the poor man'. My secret came out when a FA came to my seat and announced 'drinks are on us for the rest of the flight!..all two of them.
