The public doesn't understand that ExpressJet and Delta mainline are not the same thing, they just see Delta's logo on the side of the plane.
I don't get why this fact doesn't bother Delta. I recently got into an argument with someone at work about Delta's reliability. Her complaint was that her LGA-BUF flights are always canceled or delayed. It's difficult to explain to someone that their Delta flight from NYC to Buffalo isn't actually a Delta flight.
