I'm booked on a West Jet flight YYZ-YYC-HNL. There is 19 hr overnight layover in YYC.

I have noticed there is a flight on WS flying YVR-HNL arriving much earlier than my flight will.

I'm interested in making a same day flight change (either #1. changing connection point to YVR i.e. YYZ-YVR-HNL, or #2. taking the first leg YYZ-YYC and then changing second leg to an early flight YYC-YVR then YVR-HNL).

But given the long layover and that the flights straddle 2 calendar days, I'm not sure how this would work?

Also, separate question, if you check in more than 24 hrs before the second leg of a connecting flight, can you still be offered a Plus upgrade for that flight (in my example for YYC-HNL)?
