The hotel gave me the $100 at checkin without prompting by me. The FDC said that "I see you reserved 2 double beds, but we had to put you in a 1 king + murphy, we owe you $100." The room was actually quite nice, the furniture, TVs, and bathroom were all up to current Marriott design standards. And my brother said that, while the murphy wasn't too comfortable, it was comfortable enough to be worth the $100 compensation. There was 1 king, a king size murphy, AND a sofa bed.

Also, the hotel was crawling with high school volleyball teams; I saw at least 30 teenagers in various sized groups, so that's most likely why I had to get bumped out of the double. Good call by whoever thought of that.

For the record Sharon, the breakfast option offered to me was continental only in the hotel bar across from the FD. I didnt take it since I decided to eat in the ORD AA Flagship Lounge instead.
