The first is an upgrade fee (and you will SDC into your original purchased fare class) and the second was an upfare that sticks.
The reservation I'm discussing booked into P class. Again, it was an upgrade offered when I purchased the ticket. When I hit the "purchase" button the offer popped up and allowed me to upgrade to First Class for $xxx. I agreed to pay the money and the result was P class. Even when I've accepted upgrades at check-in it books into P class. In what circumstances would it book into PN or ZN? I understand R is for instrument/mileage upgrades.
