SAS schedule change to an impossible routing
Hello everyone,
today I had a very annoying experience with my booking with SAS.
My girlfriend and I wanted to fly from DUS via CPH to ABZ (April 6th to April 10th). Using flysas.com we booked our flights and were happy to fly with SAS again.
We recieved the confirmation mail and another one a couple of days later indicating a slight change in times for leg DUS - CPH which went 5 minutes later then during our booking.
The booked routing for the outbound flights on Thursday 6th April 2017 now were:
DUS 6:10 – CPH 7:30 (SK 620)
CPH 8:25 – ABZ 9:10 (SK 2519)
The inbound flights on Monday 10th April 2017 in this mail were as they were during our booking:
ABZ 9:45 – CPH 12:20 (SK 2520)
CPH 14:05 – DUS 15:25 (SK 1621)
Today I wanted to transfer our booking to our google calender, so I used book.flysas.com to view our booking and was speechless:
The new (confirmed) routing has a later outbound flight leaving DUS at 15:55 with SK 1622, connection in CPH and an arrival in ABZ at 18:55 with SK 1521.
This is significant later and causes mayor inconveniences for us, since we arranged a few meetings on Thursday!
The inbound flight is truly impossible now, as we will should leave Aberdeen on Monday at 19:30 with SK 1522 (arriving in Copenhagen at 22:05) while still departing Copenhagen at 14:05 with SK 1621.
I did not believe my eyes and called the Customer Service Center!
The customer center agent was unhelpflul. Neither was he able to provide me with a reason for the change, nor did he gave us any alternative (via Stavanger or any other routing). He did only apologized a couple of times.
So we cancelled the flight, got a refund and are now flying with BA via LHR. No *A miles, best chances of leaving our luggage at LHR, no lounges, ... Ahhrghh!
Normally we like SAS and have been flying quite ofter with them (even long haul to NRT, ORD, EWR in Y+ or J) but this made us really speechless!
We wanted to use SAS for our long vacation to China in autumn.
Does anyone know why this has happened? Or any idea why? I work as a senior software developer and no IT system should make this routing possible and bookable!
