I am sure that there are lots of PR card holder travelling to Canada and hence requiring no eTA but a PR card instead, but again given CX IT I guess it will be years before they will implement this into their OLCI.
I guess I will have to wait till the check-in desk tomorrow to show my PR card to the agent. I am just hoping that they are familiar with the rules regarding PR and won't insist that I need an eTA, and I am hoping that they won't give away my 11K seat assignment before I actually check-in at the airport.

There is a lot of info and discussion on the AC forum since many people who live here are PRs and have had trouble at various stations with non-AC agents (read contract) refusing to allow people to board without the eTA, despite the rules stating those with PR do not need them.
Some people have been printing up the pages from the Canadian government websites and carrying them with along with the links to the site on their devices.
Some agents then allow them to board, at other locations, PRs are still refused.
Part of the problem is the ruling and part is the training provided to airlines and their agents.
It's a mess and it was predictable.
CX staff in Canada will know the difference, which won't help.
CX staff at outstations may not.
CX IT either needs updating which won't happen if the company is not given the info that differentiates those needing eTAs from Permanent Residents who do not.
