Just to set the record straight I have NEVER sold or purchased any AA items on ebay. However I ventured over there to see what VIPs are going for these days, how many people were trying to sell there AANYC, AABOS, and fly 3, fly free certs and how much did they think they were going to get from them.

I came across a couple items called “AA Domestic Upgrade Certificate” and I was wondering what it is and when is it given out. I wouldn’t need them since I am an EXP with unlimited upgrades but was just curious. It appears that there are not valid with L and N fares, are confirmed at the 24 hour mark, and are only for one segment and not one way like VIPs.

So they actually appear to be quite useless but I am wondering why I have never heard of them and when does AA give them out.

On another note, I also have always wondered why AA does not give out drink coupons for elite members who are stuck in coach like most the other airlines do.
