Sure - it doesn't matter enormously, though by the same token I could just have booked Easyjet...
It makes sense for us to fly BA (new Gold wing security at T5 and lounge access are no bad thing with an infant), and business was very affordable and worth it in this instance for the Tier Points for Mrs R (will be enough with other travel to take her to Silver - also useful for once infat turns 2 and we need more guessing for lounge access).
From that point it makes sense to me to try for the widebody flights, all things being equal. It's not a huge deal, but when travelling with a lap infant it's easier with a little more seat space and recline. And the 1830 departure is about as early as I could manage on a Friday after work. Plus the plan when we land isn't to hit Madrid - we will pick up a hire care, grab an airport hotel then hit the road for Rioja in the morning...
So all that said, that's how come I'm asking the question about the seating for those aircraft...it's what FT is for, right?
