MAD widebodies - seating question

Just booked a quick LHR-MAD-LHR for later in the year; two adults (one Gold, one Blue) and an infant travelling.

Booked business class and have been careful to choose the flights which are scheduled to be served by the widebody aircraft - so the evening Iberia A340/330 at 1830 on the way out, and the BA 777 at 1220 on the way back. All very deliberate - especially the BA 777 as I had been led to believe that as a GCH I would able to select "Club Europe" seats in the First cabin, which would be excellent fun!

Two weird seating issues:

- on the Iberia outbound, I am allowed to select one of the two middle seats in the bassinet row (2E I think it is) because I technically have the infant under my name; but it won't let me sit my wife in the other bassinet seat 2F next to me - she can only go across the aisle in 2C - this is all under one booking so it's not a linking issue - seems silly, I appreciate they may need the other bassinet seat for someone else's baby but surely for now it should be possible to put my wife next to me on the same booking?

- on the way back MMB just shows us assigned to seats 10A and 10B which are in the Club World cabin, but it shows these as 'undefined' whatever that means - and the seat map clearly shows a layout of the First cabin but with all seats greyed out as unavailable - I can't even scroll back to see our seats in Club or change them - what is that about? Is the Firsy cabin held back and not always opened on this rotation? If and when it opens will I get allocated to sit there as a GCH? Would really like to be able to do this - not least for Mrs R who has never had the chance to even see the First cabin herself since all my trips there are alone and for work!

anyone have any idea on either question?
