Thai people are generally friendly but they are some of the most aggressive, obnoxious drivers I have ever encountered.

That's not my experience (~ 10+ years, ~ 30,000 miles driving). Yes, you do see some road rage, but a lot less than I see in the U.S. It's more of a lack of common sense and a lack of understanding of simple basic driving concepts and safety rules.
