Just because one plane lands doesn't mean the next can/will.

Even if the 2 planes are identical types, by the same airline. Individual equipment limitations on any given day, crew limitations, crew comfort/fatigue levels all come into play.

Perhaps the crew on the B763 was a new(ish) captain and has higher limits, perhaps there was an auto brake limitation that precluded them from landing with runway conditions beyond a certain point....
